The nüvi 550 is the latest innovative GPS device from Garmin that combines features from several of the most popular automotive and outdoor navigators into one compact unit. With one touch, the nüvi 550 can change between driving, cycling, hiking or marine mode.
Note. The nüvi 550 is shipped as a in-car sat-nav and the accessories in the box assume that it will be used in a car. If you intend using the device on a boat or motorcycle and you want to wire it up then you must purchase the optional accessory, Garmin Universal Mounting Cradle with Power Cable (bare wires), part number 010-11143-07. The reason is that the power cable that is shipped with the device is not waterproof and is only suitable for in-car use. The universal mount has a sealed USB which makes it waterproof and suitable for use on a boat or motorcycle.
