Overview
British Columbia is Canada's third largest Province and boasts some of the most spectacular scenery in the Country. From soaring mountains, crystal clear waters and vast forests; British Columbia is a hot-bed for outdoor adventures and a growing tourism industry. There are seven national parks within the borders including Mount Revelstoke and Glacier in the south-east corner. British Columbia is a popular recreational destination all year round where the mountainous environment really excels. Downhill and cross-country skiing can be enjoyed in locations such as the renowned resort of Whistler which recently staged the 2010 Winter Olympics. Hiking and mountain biking takes place in the spring and summer months as well as water based activities such as sea kayaking and white water rafting on the rugged coastline and many inland rivers.
