Overview
Although famous of the Lake District, Cumbria offers a much broader variety of scenery than many visitors realise. This map of central Cumbria covers an area from Caldebeck at the northern edge of the Lake District National Park, and extends southwards, stopping just short of Ambleside. A large stretch of the west coast is covered, from Maryport down to just below St Bees, start of the Coast to Coast footpath. In the east of the map is a large section of the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and in the centre of the map is of course the northern part of the Lake District National Park, including Derwent Water and Ullswater as well as the fells of Skiddaw, High Street, and Helvellyn, giving this map a huge breath of outstanding countryside to explore on bike or on foot.
