Overview

This map card includes the German states of Hessen, Rheinland-Pfalz and Saarland. Hessen is situated in west-central Germany and offers huge scenic diversity. The landscapes are dominated by low mountain ranges, all dotted with lovely towns and villages. Leisure activities in Hessen include hiking, cycling, skiing, especially cross-country skiing and sledging. Long distance bicycle trails along the rivers are easy to ride and offer beautiful scenery. Rheinland-Pfalz in western Germany is ideal for all outdoor activities. The highland is characterized by smooth hills, idyllic valleys, woodlands and fields. On the river Ahr you can walk or cycle the famous 35 km Red Wine trail which offers fantastic views. Saarland is one of the smallest states in Germany with a population of just over a million. It borders Rheinland-Pfalz to the north and to the east and is famous for its beautiful forests, winding river valleys and rolling hills. This map contains the whole of these three states on one SD card in scales of 1:25,000 and 1:50,000.
