Overview

Nordrhein-Westfalen (NRW) is the most populated and economically powerful state of Germany. Wonderful woods, spiked hill crests and romantic riversides and meadows, NRW is made for active, nature-loving people. Besides the Nationalpark Eifel there are 14 nature parks covering more than one quarter of the entire space of this federal state. Hikers can walk along many long-distance routes, some of which have been awarded excellence awards. NRW is also the cycling region number one in Germany, perfect for any cyclist. In NRW you will find a wide range of good hiking trails through the hills and valleys, across wide open plains, through picturesque villages and picture-book countryside.
