Overview
Powys occupies Mid Wales, and offers a countryside unspoiled by development and crowds. The lush valleys of the rivers Severn, Usk and Wye cut through the rolling hills of the county, and to the south lies the Brecon Beacons National Park, a countryside ranging from the highest peaks in southern Britain to wildflower meadows surrounding Llangors Lake. This countryside is ideal for walking and cycling, and has several major footpaths running through it, including a section of Offa's Dyke National Trail, Glyndwr's Way National Trail and the river walks of the Severn Way and the Wye Valley Walk.
