Overview

Wallonia, the southern part of Belgium, enjoys an immense historical and cultural wealth. Many of Belgium's cities, including Namur and Liège, are best explored by hiring bikes as there are a growing number of cycle paths. There is also a network of mountain bike itineraries beginning and ending in Namur, and river kayaking and rafting is popular along the border with Luxembourg. The Ardennes is a hilly countryside region covered with forests that are perfect for exploring. The beautiful capital city, Brussels, encompasses many charming attractions, including the Parc du Cinquantenaire-Jubelpark for wonderful views of the city. A visit to Robinson's Island in the lake at the heart of the forest, Bois de la Cambre, is worth the short ferry ride. A great country to explore on foot or by bike.
