What are the key features of the vivoactive 5?
The Garmin vivoactive 5 is a significant upgrade to its predecessor, the vivoactive 4, so much so that it is more akin to the new Garmin Venu 3 than the vivoactive 4 which was released back in 2019. At €200 cheaper than the Venu 3 this watch offers the following:
- Available in one 42 mm case size with aluminium bezel and 4 colour options: black, navy, ivory and orchid.
- An AMOLED touchscreen 1.2" display, 390x390 pixels.
- Multi-GNSS support, Elevate V4 heart rate sensor, battery life up to 11 days.
- 30+ built-in GPS and indoor sport apps.
- Advanced body battery energy monitoring.
- Health snapshot, women's health tracking, meditation and mindfulness activities.
- Customisable morning report.
- Music download, Garmin Pay contactless payments, safety and tracking.
- Compatible with Garmin Connect App and Connect IQ store
What it doesn't have when compared to the Venu 3:
- The watch does not contain a microphone for making or receiving calls.
- There is no voice assistant for sending hands-free text messages.
- There are no audio prompts for your running and walking activities.
- The Elevate 4 heart-rate monitor means the vivoactive 5 will never be ECG capable while the Venu 3 is potentially 'ECG-ready'.
- Stainless steel bezel that is more hardy than aluminium.
- There is no barometric altimeter - elevation data is provided by the GPS only.
- There is no jet lag advisor.
- There are no animated workouts.
- The watch cannot be paired with power meters or smart trainers.
Does the Garmin vivoactive 5 come with maps?
There is no mapping available on the vivoactive 5 however it does include a navigation feature that allows you to save locations, navigate to locations and find your way home using a compass arrow.
How long does delivery take once I have placed my order?
If your Garmin vivoactive 5 smartwatch is in stock, delivery is normally within 1-2 working days. We only ship within the Republic of Ireland and use either DPD or An Post. To avoid delays it is important to include your Eircode with the delivery address. If your vivoactive 5 is not in stock the date the watch is due into us is displayed at time of purchase. We get daily updates from Garmin and delivery ETAs do change. All Garmin stock originates from the UK - Brexit has meant more red tape so delays occur that are beyond our control. That being said, once stock lands into us it is shipped as quickly as possible.
Do Shokz headphones work with the vivoactive 5?
