The zūmo is both water and fuel resistant. It contains a trip odometer and fuel guage. It comes with a full motorcycle RAM mounting kit and power cables, security screw - everything you need for the bike and there is also a separate automotive mounting kit with an integrated speaker for use in your car. .Excellent Mapping

The deluxe pack includes what we think is the best combination for the zūmo 550.
- myPOIs Premium+. Your 1 year subscription includes the locations of over 500 fixed and mobile Irish Road Safety Cameras and over 25,000 extra points of interest (POIs) that you can download to your sat nav from www.mypois.ie.
Verdict
This is Garmin's first high-end GPS navigation system especially designed for motorbikers. The internal removeable lithium-ion battery is a great addition and with a host of other features such as wireless & wired audio this system will appeal to all bikers.The zūmo has proved to be very popular. Feedback from customers is that once up and running the zūmo is excellent, however at times it can be a little complicated to set up the bluetooth operation.
Bluetooth Kits for Helmets
A number of customer's have spoken very positively about the Cardo Scala Rider headsets as they seem one of the easiest to attach to your helmet and pair with the zūmo.
Quality
Overall we do like this GPS and would recommend it. It's nearest competitor - the TomTom Rider - still has some catching up to do. The zūmo 550 is also a better buy than the zūmo 500 as you are getting a lot more for a relatively small amount; preloaded European maps, a vehicle mount and car charger.
Issues
A software bug in early models meant at times the GPS would not switch on - this has now been rectified.
Motorcycle mount. Firstly, the security screw can vibrate out of place (please note that this is difficult to replace). Secondly, the electrical points cover degrades (especially in sun-light) and falls off. Thirdly, various power failures due to the electrical pins becoming wet or damaged when placing the GPS in the mount. If the motorcycle mount does malfunction, it is covered by the 12 month warranty and so we will replace free of charge - normally a replacement will be sent within 24 hours of receipt of faulty mount. In spite of the problems with the mount this should not deter you buying the zūmo because it is the best bike GPS out there and with a little care the mount will work fine.
